The Motorola HT1250 2 way radio is capable of handling up to 128 separate channels for communication. The radio is generally pre-programmed from the dealer with a set of local channels, but you may not want to use the original options. If you want to set your own options, it only takes a few minutes to program the Motorola HT1250 by removing unwanted channels or adding on other available channels.
1 Turn the volume knob at the top of the HT1250 clockwise until the radio powers on. Press the “Menu Mode” button on the front of the radio.
2 Press the down arrow key until you reach the “Menu Lists” option in the menu. Press the “Menu Mode” button again to choose the option.
3 Use the down arrow key to scroll to the “Scan List” option and press the “Menu Mode” button. Scroll to “Add Entry” to program a new channel in the HT1250. Press “Menu Mode.”
4 Scroll through the list of available channels and press “Menu Mode” to add the selected channel. Press the “Back” button and scroll to “Delete Entry” if you want to remove a channel from the radio.
5 Press “Menu Mode” to confirm the option. Scroll to the channel you want to delete and press “Menu Mode” twice to delete it from the HT1250′s list of available channels.
