How to Tune a Motorola Radius P100 for Free

The Motorola Radius P100 series is a selected group of UHF/VHF 2 way radios that allow you to communicate over one or two channels. Tune your Radius for free. While you can set different frequency bands and channels, the SWR (Standing Wave Ratio) must be properly tuned. To properly tune the radio, physically set the antenna to the correct location and manually tune the radio with an external tuning tool.
1 Turn the radio on by turning the “On/Off” knob to the right. A red light comes on if the radio is working properly; change batteries if the light does not come on. Make sure the antenna is properly attached to the base of the radio.
2 Turn the “Tuner” knob, found on the top of the radio. The static noise on the radio will become louder as you turn the knob.
3 Turn the screws on top of the radio to the left one at a time with the tuning tool. Unscrew or tighten the screws until the noise fades away.
4 Press and hold the “Talk” button, located on the side of the radio, and turn the “Tuner” knob to select a clear channel.
